Restaurant - Pizza

They serve great authentic Chicago style deep dish and stuffed deep dish pizza. You can also get some really unique specialty pizzas and good beers at a reasonable price.

My co-workers and I order out from Black Market and are always very satisfied. The Reuban Pizza is outstanding, you do have to order a few things extra on it (saurkraut, pickles,
dressing) but it is worth it. We have had the Cheese Burger Pizza also, very good! They deliver on time and it is our favorite Pizza Place! We also had the Chili Dog Pizza, all good!

We moved back to Ames recently and were excited to try Black Market. This pizza was inedible - even the worst frozen option on the market is better. I couldn‘t finish a single slice and the price was obscene.

We go occasionally because we‘d like to support some of the Somerset businesses...but the pizza just isn‘t very good. I‘d rather go down to Vesuvius -- they know how to make a really good pie and I know that I‘m getting quality food and good flavor for my money.

Also -- maybe this is just a pet peeve of mine but...the entire outside of the restaurant is covered with the staff‘s cigarette butts. There‘s a nice little (barely surviving) tree on the sidewalk out front, for example. The whole thing is filled with cigarettes. It‘s disgusting and doesn‘t improve the poor image that many people already have of the place.

I have had Black Market Pizza several times. To start off, the wings and Ruben pizza are fantastic. Best I have had. Their Buffalo Chicken is so-so; for the price, Pizza Ranch is better. Their cheese sticks are bland. Jeffs is a much better choice in that area. What really ticked me off was their Cheesy Bread Squares. They were warm Pillsbury dinner rolls served with a cup of sauce. That is it. No cheese at all. Same with their cinnamon squares. A roll with cinnamon served with weak tasting, running frosting. Stick with the Ruben and the wings and you‘ll be set.

I LOVE the pizza and the atmosphere but it is a little pricey.
