This is the best place in Iowa for Greek food! Please tell me that it isn‘t closing!!!!

Looks dirty inside and the owner shows little pride or care.

Don‘t let the looks of this place deceive you, the food happens to be phenomenal and is priced fairly. Definitely the best Mediterranean food around.

Fabulous food! I highly recommend the hummus/falafel pita. YUM YUM YUM!! It‘s so nice to have a cute little place to eat HEALTHFULLY very affordably. :-)

It is an ok place, but nothing special. Real Greek food and real Tsaziki would be great.

Pita Pita has the best falafel ever! They make all their food fresh every day and they are always super friendly there. If your a gyro person, their cucumber sauce is amazing!!

Great place! Honestly, don‘t miss it...some of the best falafel/hummus I‘ve had in a long time. The lemonade is awesome as is everything else in the entire place. Try it!

Good stuff! Probably the best falafel/hummus I‘ve had in a very long time. The lemonade is awesome too, as is everything else. Don‘t miss this place, very good!

This is a wonderful little place to get fresh food. I absolutely love the falafel and have been eating here for over a year. The business recently changed ownership and the food is still delicious and satisfying.

Great food. Pretty fresh. Fast. I go there regularly. People are nice there too.

Extremely fresh food. A vegetarian‘s haven and VERY inexpensive! But meat lovers don‘t stray. The gyros are INSANO! Very happy with the food, service and atmosphere. I make 2-3 trips weekly.
Don‘t miss this little place right next to CopyWorks.

The food is excellent, especially the fresh salad. The variety
of the salads is without peer in Ames, considering that the place is not a Buffet. The falafel is also delicious and together with the
hummus it is just outstanding.

This place is what my partner and I call our "Sunday service". The mouthwatering falafel and hummus pitas call for us every Sunday. Both of us are vegetarians, and falafel is full of lots of protein. Pita Pita serves a variety of food ranging from chicken gyro to salad plate. Everyone can find something amazingly delicious here!

I had lived in Ames for almost 10 years, and had always heard how fantastic this place was, but every time I got around to going to check it out, it was closed. I was finally able to get my first taste about a month or two before I moved halfway across country, and was so pissed at myself for not going sooner. I went at least twice a week til I moved away. I MISS IT SOO MUCH!
Yeah, it‘s greasy in there, but let‘s be realistic...even restaurants that appear clean have their own dirty little secrets.

This is a small cafe style restaurant with incredible food. I have never seen a restaurant offer such an exquisite combination of fresh/affordable/satisfying food. I eat here frequently and would pick the falafel over a fast-food-chain sandwich any day!

Even in Israel you can‘t find shwaarma this good! and inexpensive! I‘ve been stopping at this cafe for over two years now whenever I‘m in the area and it is consistently good every time. It‘s difficult to run a one-man business but I hope Rena can keep it up for a good while longer. 5 stars!!!!!

OMG! I got a to go salad today...first time visiting Pita Pita. It was quite possibly the best meal I‘ve ever eaten. I can‘t get over the variety of fresh salads and flavors. I‘m going back tomorrow for lunch.

The food is absolutely amazing, even if the building is not.

Pita Pita is fantastic. To the person below that said "Gyros are served in pitas not a bun", she serves her Gyros on a pita; everything else is served on a pita bun. The falafel-hummus pita and her fresh salad and sauces will blow you away if you like greek cuisine.

My mouth is watering just thinking about this lady‘s hummus and falafel pita. I have not been able to find hummus anywhere in the US that even comes close to hers. The bread she uses seems very fresh as well as the salads you can put on your pita. I always take a sampling from several of the salads so that each bite is a bit different. This restaurant is run by one lady who is originally from Israel. Since she is alone, opening times can be a little erratic. The restaurant does look a bit dirty. Normally, this would turn me off and I‘d never eat there again, but the hummus and falafel here is *that good*. I just close my eyes and savor the taste!

Had lunch to go there. Delicious gyro, as good if not better than the stand. Not the cleanest restaurant in the world, but I can‘t really comment as I didn‘t stay to eat there. The owner seemed nice, but it all pales in comparison to the food. That piping hot gyro with its fresh ingredients were delicious.

I was there recently for the first time, and was amazed how a place like this is allowed to open in Iowa!!! It is so dirty, the plastic baskets where they put the sandwich still have food trace! They have plant pots with soil on the sides on the never-cleaned tables. and for God sake, gyros are rapped with a pita, not a bun! That is why they call them gyros, ok!?! If you go there, just make sure to have some antibiotics on hand when finished eating!

Walked in there once because I finally saw it open. Now I know why it is closed all the time. I doubt they can ever pass a health inspection. I did not actually eat there because I saw the salad bar or whatever sitting out looking warm and wilty and covered with flies.

Fresh delicious & cheap!

I went for the first time today and the food and especially the hummus was awesome and the freshest food in town. I have traveled to the middle east and never thought I was going to get hummus that good again. Well, I was wrong. Don‘t pass this one up, it is worth trying.

It was dirty (floor, tables, counter), the owner was in a bad mood, and the food was average.

authentic hummus and falafel. healthy, fresh veggies for toppings. delicious middle eastern fare.

Well, I dont know why I ever stepped in that place in the first place. They really need to clean the place, the owner is annyoying and wont let you eat in peace, and the food itself bad.
You would be better off skipping a meal than heading to that palce.
