Delicious food and the owners are so nice and accommodating of special requests! Bi bim bap is my favorite and they make it better than anywhere else in central Iowa. Everything is fresh and delicious!

I got the bulgolgi dish. The flavors were right but the cut was definitely too thick and I think the serving sizes were a bit on the small size for the price. Going to go back because its the closest to Korean food in town but all in all its pretty average.

I love this restaurant! It has a cheerful interior, reasonable prices, and I‘ve always gotten good service. The corn tea is delightful. I hear their bulgogi is okay, but I always get the bibimbop or mackerel. So delicious! The hot noodle soups are also fantastic, and always leave me with leftovers.

The only downside to this place is that I can never seem to figure out the hours! It‘s also a little hard to find, but definitely worth it!

The Scallion is absolutely delicious! The service is very friendly and I love the food. It‘s alot more authentic than other asian restuarants around town.

As far as Korean food goes, it‘s not the best (but definitely not bad either). Being Korean, it doesn‘t really seem authentic to me. First of all, there are absolutely NO condiment dishes that come with your menu. I had to actually request kimchi. Considering Korean food is known for their wide variety of side dishes that accompany the main meal, I was disappointed. Then again, I am in Ames IA and I am thankful to have the Scallion to at least quell some of my cravings for delicious food.

The Scallion is a great restaurant, with a cheerful and pleasant atmosphere brought on by by a tasteful interior and friendly service. The food is delicious (I suggest the bibimbop or the fried mackrel), prices are modest, and I‘ve found eating there an all-round enjoyable experience.

The service is great, and the spring roll-type appetizers were very tasty, but some of the main dishes are questionable. The have a very small menu, and not everything is Korean. The rice dish I tried was very dissatisfying, and my husband‘s bulgolgi was far from impressive.

Nice and attentive wait staff and a pleasant atmosphere on top of that. The prices were really affordable and the food is good. The building is kind of scary and uninviting but seriously, go in and try the place. It‘s worth it.

The atmosphere is very friendly and a great place to go for a change of pace. If you have not been here before give it a try, you will not regret it.

OK, the building saw better days a long time ago. Piped in hip-hop does not fit a Korean motif. BUT the food was delicious and cheap! A very pleasant surprise, and a restaurant to add to the limited agenda in this burg.

I really liked this place. I never would have gone on my own though but a Korean friend of mine took me. The food is GREAT and the prices are really good too.

The Scallion serves a great pork dish w/ vegetables. It‘ll spice you up right! They serve roasted corn tea. Hey--it‘s pretty good! A recent addition: a Korean pool table--no pockets--for playing Korean-style billiards. It‘s fun while you‘re waiting for your food to try your hand at it.

Explanations of the food were helpful. Spicy, flavorful, and good food. Brightly decorated and quiet.

Great food with very friendly staff. Seeing a group of Americans, she gladly explained the items on the limited but tasty menu. Food was excellent and pretty reasonable. Kind of hard to find if you don‘t know where it is.
