So awesome! We‘ve tried all the other Chinese places in Ames and this one beats them all by far. Service was great and everybody was very friendly. Only took a couple of minutes for them to cook our order and they make it the way you want--if you want it more spicy, etc. We will definitely be back!

I‘m much happier now that I‘ve made the switch to CHC... but now I‘m anxiously waiting for the owners to get back from vacation! How could they do this to me?!?!?

Best in Ames!! I would never have eaten Chinese before but I went with some people and tried it, absolutely AMAZING!! Loved their fried rice, can‘t find anything better else where. Great prices too! They have the best customer service by far!! Extreamely nice people!

very friendly family run place. i‘ve moved to other parts of the country, and haven‘t been able to find chinese food as good as this. best hot and sour soup and you gotta try the spicy crab rangoon. this is one of the places i go when i‘m in ames for a visit.

This is the best place to eat in ames. I try to go about once a week. on a day like today, when the temp is in the single digits, nothing beats the Spicy Chicken soup with shrimp pot stickers.

I love going to CHC with family and friends, the food is great and the service is great and the owners are welcoming and super friendly. I recommend the orange chicken and crab ragoons! The food is of high quality and the atmosphere is a relaxing get away from the high pace of the University scene!

I am a Chinese guy. The Beef noodle soup makes me think I was in China! try it out.

Cozy, family-owned Chinese restaurant that‘s been open for a while now. The "American fare" is good but the more authentic Chinese dishes really shine. The noodle soups are wonderful in the winter, the spicy pork dishes are great in the summer and the specials are great year-round. CHC was my introduction to real Chinese food, and I still love coming home for it.

To agree with everyone else, the food is absolutely delicious! My girlfriend and I are new to the area, so we‘re still working our way through the menu, but so far every dish we‘ve tried has been great. We‘ve been to many Chinese restaraunts around Iowa, but CHC is one of the best... especially for how reasonable the prices are. Well worth the drive from Boone.

As far as service... the owners remembered us after only one visit, though to be fair we did spend a while talking with them after our meal on that first visit. Very friendly folks!

My only criticism is the lack of parking... we‘ve been lucky so far by getting the last open spot each time, though it would be nice to see them move to a more spacious location.

spectacular selection and some of the best vegitarian choices in Ames. I recently brought in a party of hungry people after helping me move and spent $44.00 on a party of 8...with leftovers! not to mention the food is fresh and the service ultra friendly!

Seriously the nicest owners, the best lo mein and if you can‘t decide what kind of protien to chose - go for the asparagus stir fry. I ordered it thinking that you chose the meat out of the list of about 5 diffrent things, no you get it all, scallops, shrimp, chicken, pork, beef...it‘s all in there, for just seven bucks!

This is some of the best tasting, most authentic Chinese food I‘ve ever had. I have "experienced" the Angry Chicken. It is the hottest stuff in Ames since the Indian Restaurant closed down on Lincoln Way. An experience to remember. I really like this place, but I always end up doing the green apple two-step every time I eat here regardless of what I try. So good, I‘ll endure the discomfort for this gem of a restaurant just outside of Campustown.

One of my favorite restaurants anywhere! If you have a hankering for spicy and haven‘t tried their legendary Angry Chicken yet, you‘re missing out. The owners are great, they still remember me years after I left town and they take great care of their customers. All the food is delicious and economical.

The best restaurant owners in Ames. These guys kick all sorts of butt. Great food and the 2nd best Crab Rangoons in the area. Sorry CHC you are indeed "insane", but New China in Boone has the best crab rangoon I‘ve ever shoved down my throat.

Decent food, poor quality control. Very poor service and the owners are very rude. Watch out for the beef noodle soup because it may not come with any beef,... just lumps of fat and tendons.

This is some of the best food on the planet. The food is great and the people who own the place are the nicest people ever. I have to go there at least once a week or I go through CHC withdrawl.

How can this be rated as "moderatly expensive"?? This place is the best, and at 5 bucks a plate, the only thing cheaper is rocking the dollar menu at some gross fast food place. Fast, frendly service makes me come back time and time again!

Best Chinese Food in Town by far, my brother started me going here about 5 years ago, he‘s been gone now for four years and the owners still ask how he is doing. Friendliest people you will ever meet, and best service I have ever had. Most of the food and meat is bought fresh from the grocery store instead of Chain bought. Always fresh and made to order.

Best chinese in town, barnone. They have a great customer base, and they remember you and your order if you frequent the place. The owners couldn‘t be nicer, and the food is great. CHC is the reason I stay in Ames:)

CHC is the best chinese in town. the owners are extremely friendly and accommodating (i only eat there once every couple of months but they always remember me and know my order - broccoli chicken with no bamboo shoots). good cheap eats.

Best Chinese eatery in town. Family run, and always friendly service. I‘ve never gotten sick after eating their food, which is more than I can say about any of the other places in town, King Buffet, CoCoast especially ;P
