I used to live at University Plains (hated it) and this place is next door. I would buy soda there but thats about it. The desserts aren‘t made there and they aren‘t that great. The sandwiches are overpriced. Its a nice spot, comfortable to sit in, but the service and quality of most the things I purchased there wasn‘t up to par. I had vegetarian sandwiches, lattes, and cake a time or two. Probably 20 visits in all.

The sandwiches at Milo are great! I had a roast beef with peaches last week. Nice! Their Italian sandwich is a must.

Con: More window shades would be nice for working on the computer. Also umbrellas for the sidewalk would be welcomed.

The manager has hired more of the Taraccino baristas and given them more hours, so the quality has become much more consistent lately. I love to stop in for a house salad and their breakfast sandwiches are pretty good too!

Cafe Milo is a relatively new coffee shop in the SW part of Ames.

Pros: Cafe Milo is delightfully furnished with both tables and comfy chairs. There is high quality free wireless and occasional live entertainment. It is a great place to relax and enjoy coffee.

Cons: The staff is generally inexperienced and undertrained for their role, and as a result the peparation of expresso drinks is highly variable. The staff inexperience also means that at times the wait is excessive if you are simply stopping in to get coffee and run.
