Pizza Ranch

Ames Pizza Ranch : Crusty (break your teeth) batter on the greasy chicken. Pizza is OK but nothing great. I really got a kick out of the nerve of placing a tip jar by the cashier... noting that it would imply tou should tip BEFORE you eat the cheap meal and watch the staff chat and flirt with each other between attempts to see who can carry the most glassware from the dripping tubs to the noisy kitchen. I‘d ignore the obvious "planted reviews" toting the latest lunch deal and realize that it takes a lot to motivate people to write such bad reviews.

Cheap? Yes! But NO bargin.

I have tried several times to order home deliverly. I have yet out of the several times I have placed orders to have one arrive correct. The last time I had to wait for two hours with two trips to my home to get my order. The manager who was working at the time did not seam to care.

I like to give a place a chance with the idea things can go wrong at times. However I am sad to say I will never get food from here again.

I frequent the one for this (story city) address and have always had a good experience. they always try to accommodate special requests on the buffet and the chicken is the best.

although tables can be a problem at peak times.

This is the first review that I have ever written but I felt compelled to share the truely disgusting experience we had. The Pizza Ranch in Ames is still quite new but everything was in total caos. Large tubs of filthy dishes stacked next to the dining tables. Very unclean and rude employees and never any pizza on the buffet that also included a salad bar with mostly empty and contaminated containers and no vegetables to select from either, everything was empty or near empty and the numerous employees were all milling around and obviously accomplishing nothing. There was a large amount of very hot but still dirty dishes to select from however. I did feel that we were not dressed properly for this as we were one of few that didn‘t wear a baseball cap and a teeshirt announcing "drink beer till you puke!. My wife‘s opinions are more negative than mine! Truly not a place that we will plan to return to.

Good customer service! Good people working here. Food is great! Best broasted chicken I‘ve had. Always busy and always good!

You generally can‘t go wrong with the PR. Despite the name, the best thing they have is chicken. The pizzas are pretty good too. As for this PR, they suffer on the cleanliness and getting tables bussed. Generally it is pretty busy, and they don‘t have the staff to get stuff cleaned up. Usually chunks of stuff on the floor, and it can be hard to find a clean table at lunch time.

Food is always good tho. Buy 10 buffets, and get the next one free, yay!
