The Broiler

It is time to come back. the Broiler will reopen with Julie at the helm and John in the background to once again make sure that The Broiler will once again be THE BROILER

The Broiler was bought a couple of years ago, but it soon went out of buisiness. The daughter of the origional owner will be buying it soon, and it should be open by early summer. I am good friends with the origional owner‘s grandson, and intend to apply for a job there, to insure maximum quality service. Hopefully, The Broiler will once again, be the choice place to dine come this summer. Please stop by next time you‘re in Ames.

I had the steak deburgo burger. It was very good. The sevice was up to par, and the drinks were made well.

I would say a nice place to go for a Friday or Saturday dinner. Has a country feel.

there was no one to greet me when i walked in the door besides little kids runnig around. i ordered a steak and it was cold along with my potato. i had to send it back. the second steak was the same. i sent that one back and just ordered a burger. the lettuce on my salad was wilted. i won‘t go back until it goes under serious improvement!

I am not sure what happened to this place. I heard it came under new management within the last few years. I used to go here every time I was in Ames and it was excellent. After hearing that it had come under new management I went back one more time. I will never return again after that. Apparently the new people in charge don‘t have a clue what they are doing. It is so disappointing to see a place go from being so great to being so terrible. It used to be well worth the large bill, now it is not worth half of what they charge. Go to Aunt Maude‘s, it is surely the best food in town and your bill will be about the same price.

It was pretty bad. Atmosphere was cool, but the first thing I ordered was out and the second dish I ordered, a pasta dish, was so poorly made I had to send it back- the noodles were mush! A $20 steak was horrible as well; flat, greasy and overcooked. Very over priced too. Sadly, this used to be a very good restaraunt.

It is far away. Meat was impossible to chew, rice came cold, salad was horrible and waitress did not know anything about the food she was serving and kept forgetting what we asked her to bring, plus she was pushing us to finish our food even though the restaurant was empty on Friday night (bad sign!).We paid $100 for two dinners that did not worth that money! Forget it! The owners should rethink if it should stay opened!

We will never go here again!

Wonderful Experiance!! Family run, family atmosphere. Food was great with very friendly service. I highly recommend it.

We were there for a company Christmas party. It was amasing how fast they served over 50 meals. The food was great and the atmosphere was very festive. We will be back.

The Broiler is a perfect place for a nice night out in Ames. The menu offers a wide variety of food, and the service was great.

I found the atmosphere very homey and inviting. I was cheerfully greeted and felt like a welcomed guest. The food was excellent and very tastefully presented. It was a destination restaurant that I will frequent when I am in Ames.

The most over rated place in Ames. Expensive, bad service, and sub standard food. Go to McDonald‘s--at least you know up front what you are getting. The Broiler tries to act like they are a top line place and they are NOT!

Food took forever and over priced. Very unskilled server. A group of 8 was there for the last time. Cafe is much better .
