Chicha Shack

I love going to the Shack especially because it‘s one of the few places an under 21 college kid can go to chill out and have fun late at night. The bar tenders and servers are friendly. the music choice is always great, and they‘ve gotten better at bringing coals around more often. I also love that they provide cards! So entertaining!

The only problem I have with the place is that there have been a LOT of nights where we would go in and there were no seats or hookahs left. This could be bad timing, but it would happen during the week, not just on the weekends. This is obviously no one‘s fault, although I think they should consider acquiring a new venue, and as a previous review said, comfier chairs.

Other than that, this place is great!

NEEDS NICER CHAIRS! Throw out the crappy seats and get something nice for your patrons. I would come way more often if I knew I would be comfortable every time I walked through the door.

Overall this is a pretty nice place - it is much bigger than the old venue on Welch; it is much more comfortable. Usually the people who work there are really nice, although a few weekends ago we had a very rude bartender - we ended up leaving without getting anything because of him. It is fun to smoke with friends there, but the draws from the hookah are pretty harsh - much harsher than the one we have at home. Also, they don‘t come around very often to replace or refresh your coals, which can be annoying. But if you don‘t have one at home, Chicha Shack is still pretty great.

If you‘ve never been to a hookah bar, make this your first. The staff is extremely friendly, and the entire experience is really wonderful. I‘ve been to 4 different hookah bars now, this one still has my heart.

best night spot in ames.. hands down! especially for people like me under the age of 21 it is the best thing we got!

Wow. What a place. Finally something out of the ordinary to do in Iowa. You have to check it out. I loved it . You actually feel welcomed there. The unofficial workers there that are somehow always there but actually dont work there are kind and funny. Mo is great. Best hookah bar ever.

Really good atmosphere. Nice people and good food!!!!! Its a nice place to relax of do homework during the school week or party on a friday night. They have wireless internet. A++++
