I love Cy‘s!! Always have a good time here

This place is gross, the guys were way too handsy although most of the girls didn‘t mind.the door was very nice but the bartenders were awful!!

This place is a joke, I waited over half an hour to get served, overprice and wrong alcohol!!

Very Dirty. Employees are extremely rude. Your feet will literally get stuck to the floor.

Hands down the worst bar I‘ve been to. I found the staff rude and disrespectful. I had an awful experience.

Bouncer thought he was king of the world. Took away my valid DRIVER‘S LICENSE because I didn‘t have another form of I.D. with. Would not give it back until I took $15 worth of cab rides home and back to get my other forms of I.D.

The bouncer also did the SAME exact thing to 3 other (all blonde!) girls within 15 minutes of it happening to me.

Horrible experience there. I would NOT recommend it.

Recently came back for an ISU home game and was very pleased with the way the bar looked compared to past years. Place is finally decorated nicely with a great atmosphere. Good looking girls behind the bar with a fantastic Friday DJ.

the first time i went to cy‘s i was nearly incoherent drunk and i STILL remember not even wanting to use the restroom. i‘ve given cy‘s chance after chance because i know people who rave about it. still, i can‘t believe they‘re even open! i have literally LOST my shoes on their bar floor, early in the evening! the bartenders are hard to get ahold of if you don‘t know them or aren‘t a regular, my friends didn‘t even get a drink. i finished mine quick and we left again. it seems that the girl bartender is the only one working, really. the guys behind the bar seem to be running around talking to each other, trying to find a way to seem busy so they don‘t have to help anyone without their chest nearly completely revealed. and the poor girl is very cute, she ends up getting hit on & having to spend the extra time thanking the male customers for their comments. the total space is fairly large, just set up awkward (in their defense there isn‘t much better of a way to arrange the space, either) it always seems smaller because it‘s so packed, though i don‘t know why. personally, i DO NOT like cy‘s one bit. and i wouldn‘t recommend it to anyone.

Good bartenders, I like the style, and the openness of the bar. Will not be a great winter bar, with the outdoors having to be closed, and losing some space.

I went there and had a great night!!! Cheap drinks, good music, and great looking people. I see from other responses that some aren‘t too happy with the bartenders and managers... sounds to me that you might be the guys who always get beat up! As for any negative comments towards the bartenders, its muscles and money that gets you laid...pass that on to those lanky bartending hating bitches!!!

this place needs a makeover..i graduated 2 yrs ago and i was back recently and was not impressed..fights, very young pppl- i know they were not of age and the girls were not good looking, yes i think all the employees are in love with themselves, but they work for us..hahaha like they‘ll ever get real jobs

Cy‘s Rocks!!! Good service and awesome staff!! Take your complaints about the staff‘s physique and what the manager does outside of the bar elsewhere!!

The previous posts have to be from the staff. There have been multiple fights. Mostly douchebags go there. The managaer is in love with himself. All males on staff have a fettish for they muscles. some appear to be on roids and the rage further proves it. manager gets in fights at other bars when hes not at cys (which is constantly). females working there are pretty hot though.

Cys Roost or " Ψs Roost " as I like to call it haha is the bar to go if you wanna meet other great greek people and dress to impress (they recently started a dress code). Lame-ass bartenders with gelled-up hair and same goes for the crowd...at least the last time I was there (6 mo ago.) Not terrible by any means, just not my thing.

If you aren‘t looking for fights, teenagers, and terrible service, Cy‘s is where you need to be. Lost and found upstairs always has great bands and a relaxed atmosphere. If a classy club atmosphere is what you want, give Cy‘s a chance.....You wont be disappointed.

This is where the coolest people in ames go, they have the best dj‘s and greatest bartenders.

The management has really taken some great steps to class the place up and make it a better atmosphere for everyone. People go here to avoid the fights, skanky girls, hood rats, and thugs, oh and the minors. The new DJs are great and the Nobles are the best drink I‘ve ever had. My Favorite bar in Ames.

By Far the best place in Ames. DJ MIIM on saturday nights rocks the house with great techno and hip-hop.

Love this place! I go there and Mickey‘s every weekend. Always have a great time and I really enjoy the bands upstairs.

The crowd here is so-so typically a bunch of meat heads and to the previous poster the DJ at cy‘s is mediocre at best if u want to see real DJs u have to go to element, Cy‘s isn‘t even a dance bar besides DJ Bru used to work at element and couldn‘t cut it, so if u want to see Real DJ‘s go to Element DJ episode and DJ Diverse are some of the best aorund the midwest

Good times for the most part, only thing is: some of the staff is inviting...some aren‘t quite so much. But ya gotta expect an a-hole or two working at the bar. The positives are the drinks fly from behind the bar AND the DJ‘s Damn Good, I wanna see him at a bigger venue!!! Sips or Element?

Hands down best bar in Ames...Dj is AMAZING and the bartenders look great with the dress shirts and ties... The place has turned around for the better. I dont mind waiting in line Thursday‘s, Friday‘s, and Saturday‘s. The theme parties are something my girlfriends and I look forward to every month :) Everybody in that bar is good looking and the Manager is so hot and knows how to treat his regulars and have a fun time... im never gonna stop going here

Cy‘s has been a fun place to go to suprisingly this whole school year. Hope they keep it going with live music on Thursdays n new bands or whatever and keep the DJ on the weekends cause hes‘ pretty sick...Theme parties have been nothing but a good time, keep it up

Not a fan of the bartenders or the service. Seems like the bartenders are always there more for their friends rather than "other" customers and their bouncers walk around like they can take on the world. Get real.....

I went there recently and I was disappointed. The staff was alll drunk and it took forever to get a drink becuase the bartenders were more concerned taking pictures than pleasing the customers. Also, ive noticed that a lot of underage people get in. Not the bar if you want to hang out with 19-20 yr old immature people. Hopefully it gets better soon.

I love Cy‘s. The bartenders and staff are all great. The new manager is doing great things, I have heard first hand some oh his upcoming ideas and I can‘t wait. CY‘s Roost has to be your number one destination for drinks and fun.

All this about having to be a girl to get a drink..yeah right maybe you just dont push through all the people to get up there and order. Ive been with plenty of guys to Cys and they always have a drink in hand. The bartenders are hot, so that could easily be why you (probably a male) are b*tching. Obviously this place is where people go to have a good time and it happens, who cares if the bartenders are drunk..wouldnt you rather them be having a good time than having to deal with asshole bartenders?? If it‘s such a terrible bar with horrible service why is there a line every Friday and Saturday????

The staff was inviting, the place was relatively clean and I could see the hand in front of my face and the faces across the bar (ie not too dark). Specials are decent and the bartenders know what they‘re doing with mixed drinks and shots. On the weekends the DJ is worth listening to and the bartenders are quick slinging booze. I suggest this for anyone student alumni or otherwise, stop in once and you won‘t want to go anywhere else.

Ive tried to go there with my friends at least 10 times in the last year. Each time same thing horrible service by drunk bartenders, no one there except tools that work there and their "friends." Only in Ames Iowa could this place survive.

Cys is a great, fun bar, I would recommend that everyone check it out. Its safe to say that it is one of the few bars if not (in my book) the only bar you can go and hang at all night and be entertained and have a good time all night long. Fridays and Saturdays are great, big crowds, awesome DJ that keeps it mixed up, lotta great music. The staff seems pretty good, never had any problems. One downfall is waiting in line, Friday and Saturdays if your getting out too late, you‘ll be stuck in line. Top 2 Bars in Ames

This bar is the best in campustown, the service you get is great and the staff seems to love having a good time even if the bartenders are drunk you still are getting good drinks and great service. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays this is the place to be at the DJ is great on Fridays and Saturdays and the band that place up in Lost and Found on Thursdays is absolutely amazing, both draw in a crowd like no other. Best bar hands down!

last time i was there one of the drunkest people in the place was the bartender, who sprayed me with soda from their pop gun, when i had done nothing to him. turns out he was the manager. cys is in AMES, IOWA! This is not cancun or spring break. I don‘t live all that close to the bars, so I had to make the choice of going home or staying in wet, sticky clothes in the winter time. I stayed out drinking, but went to a different bar. I don‘t think i‘ll be back there until someone knocks that bartender/manager out

Best Bar in Campustown hands down. Great music and staff. The Halloween party was awesome!

I was at the Halloween Bash last Friday night and wow...best party this town has ever seen. A big hats off to the staff at Cys for doing something fun in this dead campustown. PS The DJ they had was awesome.

This bar has officially lost what made it awesome once. Going back for VEISHA i was completely appauled at what it had come to. The manager and bartending staff were all hammered, the service was horrible! The place just smelled of of rotten eggs, and they had no liquor that was worth a darn. I can‘t believe how downhill this place has gone.

This bar just simply doesn‘t cut it. The bartenders are hammered most of the time, the roof leaks, and it SMELLS horribly in there.

I could only stand to be in there for a couple minutes. Apparently, you need big tits to get a drink, and the place reeks of fried food. There was a long line to the bathroom because only one of them was working. Evict these yahoos and get a decent bar in there!

if u have not been in lately check it out,the bar has many improvements and is very well cleaned up, the staff is fast, polite, and real good looking, the best bar im campus right now hands down

I had the worst experience here. I was basically ignored along w/ just about everyone in my group. The bar was dirty and I hated it. I do NOT recommend this bar to anybody.

The floor is cracked, the bathrooms are horrible. The service is worse unless you know the spikey haired puffy faced bartenders. Why would anyone go here, unless they were getting "hooked up?"

Awesome service!! the building is a little run down, it‘s still the best time, plus the bartenders are super fast and incredibly good looking. I Highly Highly recommend trying a sexy mexican (the shot...but the bartender‘s pretty amazing too...)

I‘m not sure if the place above it is different (we always called it Lost and Found) but that is one of the best bars in ames. Nice furniture, relaxed atmosphere, and probably the darkest place around for when you just feel like not seeing your drink or your company.

Like the above comment, I‘ve never been there for bar time. The food is great though!

To be honest, I never go there for the bar. But I go there for lunch, and the food is awesome! Incredible burgers, and great chicken sticks and mozz sticks.
