Attraction - Winery
Prairie Moon Winery and Vineyards started on the basis of a passion for fine wine and a need for expansion in Iowa's agricultural diversity. In 2000 Steven Nissen planted the first vines of what now has become an eighteen acre vineyard. The dream was to grow high quailty grapes, in order to create fine estate wines, without having to buy grapes from established growing areas like California. It has been a slow process, but we believe our products reflect the care and precision put into the raising the grapes and making the wine.

We are having our wedding here this upcoming summer. We love the wine and give it out as gifts to all our friends and families. I would tell any one planning a wedding to get all the small details out of the planners - they exactly don‘t spell them out for you. It‘s also kind of expensive comparatively so really ask them about certain things. Otherwise, I‘m very excited about our big day - just nervous about those small details!

A great location with great musical events, especially in the summer. But the wine itself is horrible.

I was really excited when I found out my friend was having his wedding reception at the Prairie Moon Winery. Unfortunately the dry red wine tasted like it had turned--had a very pickly/vinegary flavor which made it undrinkable. Their white wines were better, but I was still pretty disappointed over all...which is too bad because the setting and everything else was great.

My fiancee‘ and I are getting married here in February and are very excited! Matt is very cooperative and is supportive anything we would like to do for the wedding and reception. I recommend this place 100%!

My fiance and I were planning to hold a reception at Prairie Moon Winery. We contacted them and agreed that this looked like the perfect place. Unfortunately, after we committed to holding the reception at their winery, their customer service dropped off completely. I wrote 3 emails and left 4 messages over a 1 month period to get the contract signed but Matt was unresponsive. We decided that if this was a sign of things to come it was not going to be worth the trouble.
